This is a turning point for Anne because it is when she finds out that her parents have been planing on going into hiding for a while now. It creates a negative impact on Anne because she becomes scared that everything is happening so soon. This relates to the theme because Anne tries her best to be calm and not make Margot even more frightened.

On this day, Anne's family starts to move into the secret annex to hide from the Nazis. This changed the rest of Anne's life because it would mean she would have to live in fear of being caught and not being able to be outside and breathe fresh air. This made Anne value being outside, being able to talk as loud as she could, not being scared in everything she did, and many more. This connects to the theme because she it was the start of when she had to learn to stay calm in the worst situations.

Mr. Dussel moves into the secret annex. It is a turning point for Anne because from that point on, she would be sleeping in the same room with a strange old man and have to deal with him for the next 2 years. It changes Anne's thinking about the annex, because she used to be okay with it, until Mr. Dussel decided to move in. This is because Mr. Dussel is a selfish man and is very picky. It relates to the theme because Anne had to stay positive and not complain about her living conditions.

On this day, Anne is boiling with rage because of the members of the Annex. It all gets too much and Anne has to learn to keep it to herself and use her diary as an outlet for her to stay calm. Anne decides to do her best to be kind to everyone no matter how badly they treat her. This is a negative impact of Anne because it lowers her self esteem and makes her feel lonely and unwanted. This event relates to the theme because although she is at her lowest point, she tries her best to be positive.

This is the first major robbery in the building of the secret annex. All of the members of the annex are worried that they will be found soon. This situation made Anne realize how dangerous it was hiding from the Nazi. This created a negative impact on all the members of the annex because there is a possibility that the thief will be curious and try to find them. It relates to the theme because everyone had to learn to calm so that life could go on and so that they could relax.

Peter kisses Anne half on the cheek and half on the ear. This changes Anne's perspective of everything because now she can't stop thinking about him and their future together. This creates a positive impact on Anne because she does not feel as lonely anymore. It also changes her thinking because her mind is more mature now. This relates to the theme because she didn't see the situation as a hassle or look at the situation in a bad perspective. She viewed it as a life changing and amazing event.
