  • The Creation of ITTF

    This was when ITTF was founded. ITTF is the governing body for Table Tennis for all international Table Tennis Associations. This was founded so that Table Tennis could be promoted to people of all ages to try it out.
  • When Rubbers were Introduced

    In the 1950's rubbers were nintroduced to develop the game more. This enabled players to get better speed and spin when hitting the ball.
  • Speed Glue

    This was when the speed glue was invented. Speed glue enables you to get more speed and spin when hitting the ball.
  • Ball changed 38mm to 40mm

    The balls were cahnged from 38mm to 40mm so that the ball could be more visble to players. This can help as the players will be able to see the ball better and be able to play their game.
  • Covering the ball when serving

    This was introduced to help stop the ball from being covered when someone is serving. This can help because this enables the other player who is recieving the serve to make it a fair game.
  • Speed Glue was atken out of the game

    In 2008, Speed Glue was taken out of the game as it provided an unfair advantage on players. This made the game unfair, so this is why they took speed glue out of table tennis to make sure it was a fair game.
  • ETTA rebranded as Table Tennis England

    In May 2014, ETTA (English Table Tennis Association) was rebranded as Table Tennis England. This could of been so that the name seemed more professional.
