    The Lucky Triffid Sting
    Bill Masen is stung by a triffid, his head is bandaged and he is sent to the hospital. He remains there, sightless, when the green comets decorate the sky on Tuesday, May 7, leaving the watchers blind, but Bill, having not seen the comets, retains his vision.

    The Scream
    Bill is walking along close to Golden Square, when a terrifying scream stops him in his tracks. He finds a women crouching on the ground, while a large man smacks a thin brass rod onto her back. He frees her from the man and learns that her name is Josella and that she is one of the few sighted people in the now blind world.
  • The Light

    The Light
    Bill and Josella find an abandoned apartment where they plan to stay untio they are able to escape to the countryside. Josella spots a flashing light which they plan to investigate the following morning.
  • The "Proposal"

    The "Proposal"
    The University holds a conference, in which a fierce debate is fought over faith and marriage. Bill and Josella later decide that they will "marry" and have children together, seeing the circumstances that they now face.

    Bill and Josella along with many others are kidnapped in a false fire. They are taken to Coker, the leader of the blind, and given groups of blind people that they are in charge of taking care of.

    The University
    Bill and Josella head to the University where they saw the light the previous night, and they find a group of blind people with the leader of the group arguing with the other group on the other side of the gate. The leader wants the sighted group to help the blind people survive, but the group refuses. The blind group heads in the oppisite direction and Bill and Josella are escorted into the University where they meet the Colonel, Michael Beadly and many other important characters.

    The Gang of Strangers
    While Bill is out with his assigned group looking for food, they come across and unknown gang, led by a redheaded man, who is apparently very quick with his gun. The blind group makes a dash for it and he soon stops shooting.
  • Where is Josella?

    Where is Josella?
    After the group dies off from disease, Bill begins his long search for Josella, he finds an address on the University building and plans on driving there with hopes of finding Josella. He also meets Coker there and they drive together to Tynsham on Friday, May 17. Little does Bill know, Josella was at the University at the same time he was.
  • Tynsham Manor

    Tynsham Manor
    Bill and Coker arrive at Tynsham Manor to find that there is no Josella and nobody knows of a Josella. Bill and Coker leave on Monday, May 20 and arreve at Beaminster, the area which Ms. Durrant, the leader of Tynsham Manor, suggested the others had gone.

    The Long Search
    Bill and Coker join up with a trio to search Beaminster in the hope of finding Josella from a helicopter. They continue their search until Saturday, May 25. They find no Josella or Beadly Clan.

    Bill goes off on his own to search for Josella, he heads off in the direction of Shirning in Sussex, after remembering something Josella said about the stable farmhouse.

    Bill finds Susan, a young girl orphaned by triffids, on his way to Shirning. He decides to take her with him.
  • Home at Last

    Home at Last
    Bill finally finds Shirning, and with that he is reunited with Josella. He meets Dennis, Mary and Jouyce, the blind occupants of the house.

    Bill and Josella's first child, David Masen, is born.

    Bill and Josella meet Ivan Simpson, who suggests that they move to the Isle of Wight, they decide they need some time to think about it.

    Escape to the Isle of Wight
    That same night the clan head out to the Isle of Wight avoiding Torrence's plan.

    Mr.Torrence
    Bill and Josella meet yet another man, this time it's someone familiar, the redheaded shooter. He wants to move 20 blind people into the residence. Bill finds it impossible for that many people to be sustained in the house and by the land, but Torrence sees it as a case of survival.
