Anne Frank goes into hiding
Summary: Margot received a call-up to report for labor camp in Germany. Otto Frank realized that they would have to hide from the Nazis in order to survive. Anne would have to stay hidden in the cramped space with many others.

How it relates: She will have to learn to live with others in a small place. It's a different experience, so she will learn and grow from it. -
The Van Daan family goes into hiding
Summary: A week after the Frank family went into hiding, Hermann and Auguste Van Daan, and their son Peter, joined them in the Secret Annex. The Van Daan family were given two rooms on the second floor of the Secret Annex to use.

How it Relates: She slowly becomes quieter when they move in, and she learns to respect, but she also grows to loathe Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan. She grows out of her childish behavior after a while because of the other people. -
Mr. Dussel (Fritz) goes into hiding
Summary: They were already starting to struggle surviving in the annex, but Mr. Frank agrees to let Mr. Dussel hide in the annex as well. Mr. Dussel shares a bedroom with Anne.

How it Relates: Anne learns to respect her roommate's things and that shows to other people. -

Summary: They celebrate Hanukkah together in the Secret Annex. Even with the situation they're in, they can still have their traditions and holidays.

How it Relates: Anne grows to be a bigger person because although she doesn't necessarily like some people in the annex, she still gives everyone gifts, that she learned to make. -
Anne and Peter kiss
Summary: Anne gets her first kiss. Although Peter only kisses her “half on her left cheek, half on her ear,” Anne suddenly feels she is very advanced for her age.

She feels older, which will probably make her act older too. She has grown out of her childish phase and now she's mature and likes Peter. -
The people in hiding get found
Summary: Anne and her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel get found by the German Police.

How it Relates: This event changes their lives forever because most of them are never gonna see each other again. She has to be strong and brave to survive through camps. -
