    Abigail and the girls discovered dancing in the forest
    Act 1
    - Parris: "And what shall I say them? That my daughter and my niece I discovered dancing like heathen in the forest."
    - This event is the most important event of the play because this is what causes the conflict in the play. After the girls were seen dancing it brought about the suspension of witchcraft being practiced in Salem. This incident put everyone in a bad predicament, including Parris because the whole city is going to be coming at him.
  • Betty has become sick

    -Parris: "Then why can't she not move herself since midnight? This child is desperate! It must come out my enemies will bring out. Let me know what you done there. Abigail do you understand that I have enemies.
  • Abigail stabbed herself

    Abigail stabbed herself
    Act 2
    Abigail stabbed herself to make it seem as if Elizabeth sent out a spirit on her.
    - This is a major event in the act because it made everyone think Elizabeth was a bad person and everyone looked at her differently.After this event happened it really made Elizabeth look guilty of practicing witchcraft and caused her to be arrested. Because of this Elizabeth was put in jailed and later killed.
  • Mrs. Putnam children are all dieing

    Act 2-
    -Mrs. Putnam: "They were murder, Mr. Parris! And mark this proof! Last night Ruth were ever so close to their little spirits, I know it, sir. For how else is she stuck dumb now expect some power of darkness would stop her mouth? It is a marvelous sign, Mr. Parris!"
    - This was a major event because this made the suspicion of witchcraft greater. After this happened the people who were thought to be so sweet became a suspect, and this was a big lead up to people being accused.

    - Abigail and the girls pretends Mary sent out her spirit on them in court.
    - This is a major event because it made the suspicion of Mary practicing witchcraft very high. Everyone believed Abigail because she had the girls to support her. This event caused a lot of confusion, and will eventually lead to Mary being found guilty.

    - Abigail: "Oh, please, Mary! Don't come down." Abigail and the girls" Abby, you mustn't! ( Mary said this first so they copied)
  • John Proctor confessed

    John Proctor confessed
    Act 4
    - This major event had an effect on the play because since John ripped the confession it caused him to be hanged. With John being hanged it had a bad effect on Elizabeth and also their kids because now they have to live without their mom and dad.
    - Proctor: " I have confessed myself! Is there no good penitence but it be public? God does not need my name nailed upon the church! God sees my name; God knows how black my sins are! It is enough!
  • Giles Corey was killed

    Giles Corey was killed
    Act 4
    -Giles Corey was killed by stones being laid on his chest for refusing to tell what he knew. While the weights where being placed on him Giles said "more weight" that's when he was killed.
    - Giles: " I will not give you my name. I mentioned my wife's name once and i'll burn in hell long enough for that. I stand mute.
  • Parris Becomes Afraid to go out

    Parris Becomes Afraid to go out
    Act 4
    - Parris becomes afraid to even come out after everyone has began to confess because that makes him look bad and now many people want to hurt him.
    - This was important to the play because Reverend Parris was a good man who had a good name with everyone until all this witchcraft stuff came about. After trying to claim that no one was practicing witchcraft and then people actually confessing to it made him look like a really bad person. This changed the whole view on Parris.
