    The General election. The Irish people had 3 choices of 3 different futures of Ireland:
    1. Home rule, but as part of the British Empire.
    2. British rule for Ireland.
    3. Complete independece (Sinn Fein and the revolutionary Nationalists) This was what they voted for and they won and declared Ireland independent.
  • The war of Irish Independence

    British troops in Ireland. Guerilla war between IRA and British army for 2 years.
    The solution was that divide Ireland in 2 parts: North and South.
  • Irish Free State

    Sinn Fein and IRA members went to London to talk to the British government. Treaty with British government. 26 contries of Southern Ireland became known as the Irish Free State.
