    This conference happened during the beginning of February of 1945. Most of decisions stayed secret until the end of World War 2 for political and military reasons. The people in the conference asked China and France to join them supporting and sponsoring the conference that had been taking place. They officially asked them on April 25, 1945. This conference brought together the Big Three Allied leaders. These leaders were Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt.

    This war was a clash between empires. The start of the hatred between the two countires started with Japan dropping a bomb on Russia in Port Arthur. Russia got very upset about this and therefore wanted to declare war on Japan. Russia declared war on Japan and invaded the part ruled by Japan named Manchuria.

    In 1948, Joeseph Stalin took communist control over the area of Czechoslavkia. This political scene that took place happened shortly after World War 2. The president at the time was Eduard Benes gave up control and allowed a communist-dominated government to be organized. After this, the communist leader Stalin took over Czechoslavkia. On Feburary 25, Benes gave in to the communist request and handed over his cabinet to the communist party.

The three key events that led to the blokade are one the institution of the Marshall Plan, two the London conference in winter and spring of 1948, and three the resultant of the London Program which called for a seperate West Germany and currency reform as a means to reach the end.

President Truman later ordered a hydrogen bomb to be made which was much more powerfull than the one USSR. possessed.

    The Korean War The Korean War started a feud between The Soviet Union and The U.S. because The Stalin supported North Korea by giving them weapons to fight South Korea, who the U.S. helped the divide from North Korea to end communism. This made the U.S. extremely angry and they joined the war to fight with South Korea. This started tension between the Soviet Union and U.S. This started the Cold War with a tension between each country.

    The Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik. It weiged 183 pounds and took 98 minutes to orbit earth. Sputnik marked the beginning of the US-USSR Space Race. The launch of Sputnik made the US fear that Russia had the capability to also launch missiles that carried nuclear weapons. Soon after, The US launched The Explorer.

    The Soviet Split began around 1959 when tensions raised between Russia and China. Russia was well aware that the US had the same nuclear power as they did. To stay clear of the US keeping up with them in technology and to avoid any war with China, the Soviet Split was created.

    Because of the fear that America was falling behind the Soviet Union in technology, The US launched Apollo 11 into space. Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldrin were the first Americans to land on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first to step out of Apollo 11. This helped advance the US in the technology "war" between the US and the Soviet Union.

    The Cold War came to a dramatic end because the economies of all countries on German side were starting to fail. Russia had built up a huge debt and things like long lines for food and coupons to buy socks in Russia were too much. Also the demand of the citizens behind the Iron Curtain wanted freedom. Then the Soviet Union split up into the fifteen countries and ended the Cold War and Communism

In 1989, Hungary announced that East Germany could pass through Hungary to go to West Germany. This made the wall have no purpose so when the citizens of East Germany came to destroy the wall the government let the citizens tear it down. This started the end of the Cold War.

    The Soviet Union disbanded in this era because the fact that the Cold War has just ended or started to end and that the economy of the Soviet Union was doing so poorly. The Soviet Union dissolved into fifteen countries including the largest Russia. The countries are republic because of their hate towards communism. Also they are allies now. This marked the official end of the USSR. This was a great win for the U.S.
