Ends French and Indian war. Left Britain in large debt. Decided to force colonist to pay it back unwillingly.

Proclamation of 1763

Basically said that territory west of the Appalachian Mts. off limits to the colonist. This upset them.

Sugar Act

Apr 5, 1764

King increased tax on sugar and other goods without consent of the colonist, angering them even more.

Stamp Act

Mar 22, 1765

King taxes all printed papers, like newspapers,legal documents, and licenses. outrages colonist.

Declaratory Act

Mar 3, 1766

Along with repeal of the stamp act, parliament basically said they had the right to make laws and changes to colonial government even if colonist weren't represented.

Boston Massacre

Mar 5, 1770

Colonist create mob around british, harassed and intimidated them until something happened and the shot out and killed five colonist.

First continental Congress

Sep 5, 1774

Delegates from colonies meet and decide to form militia, and boycott trade with Britain. They decided to make decisions concerning the things parliament did to them.

Boston Tea Party

Dec 16, 1774

Colonist went aboard British ship dressed as Mohawk Indians and dumped tea in the Boston harbor.

Lexington and Concord

Apr 19, 1775

British were sent to get the Arms from colonist. Milia met with them and they fought at lexington and concord. These were the battles that Basically began the Revolution.
