    This act said that Colonist could no longer manufacture sugar and they could only get it from English.This was passed to prevent Colonist from smuggling things.

    The Act stated that anything that had paper was attached with a tax. This was the 1st way colonist would pay taxes.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act was passed to protect colonists against threats. British soilders would be invited into homes and if colonist refused they would be breaking a law.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    This act said that no one could argue that the British Government had the right to tax import goods to the colonies. It was passed because Colonist weren't pleased with previous acts.

    This act stated that the colonies could only get tea from England. This act was passes to prevent colonist from smuggling tea.
  • Coercive/Intolerable Acts: Boston Tea Party

    This act says it is illegal to send out shipments on the Boston Harbor. They passes it because they thought they were loosing control of the colonies.

    This act stated that the British governor must be present at all meetings. This act was passed because British felt they were loosing control of the Colonist.

    This act stated that the french colonist could stay Catholic as long as they payed more taxes. This act was passed so the British Empire could make more money and expand their empire.
