This Battle took place in Manassas, Virginia. This battle was important because it was the first true battle in the civil war and it had lowerd the norths beliefs in winning the war.

    For the Union the leader was Captain David Farragut, and there was not a Confederate leader because this was an attack from the north taking the Confederate's ports and the Confederartes did not have a navy at the time. This was a win for the Union. This battle had taken place in Louisiana - Mississippi River. This was important becauase this made the North gain total control of the mississippi river and this also blocked off all of the south's ports therefore not allowing trading.

This battle was important becausae this had made Abraham Lincon create the Emancipation Proclamation, and this had prevented Lee from advancing.
