  • The Battle of Lexington

    The Battle of Lexington
    The British know about the militia Arsenal, Paul Revere and other patriots was out to warn the militia troops that the british were coming. 700 redcoats troops were sent to Concord to take the weapons away. 70 minutemen met the army of british at Lexington in an attempt to hold off the british back, but were overwhelmed and retreated back to concord.

    The Battle of Concord
    On the same day, the british marched to Concord and met 3,000 to 4,000 patriots who ambushed the redcoats were marching back to Boston, finding put the Arsenals were missing. The british soldiers were out number by the patriots gorilla warfare. Due to the fact that the british were defeated.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill
    Tomas Gage who is a british general, sent 2,400 soldiers in an attempt to take to breed hill. The patriots who waited on the hill, waited till last minute to fire a massive volley on the redcoats inflicting about 1,000 casualties. The patriots lost about 450 soldiers before retreating.

    The Battle of New York and Trenton
    To stop the rebellion of Patriots, the british quickly arrive to New York City with an army of 32,000 soldiers to end the war. The Patriots were outgunned and outnumbered that due they had to retreat in the late August. During the fall, the british has successfully pushed Washington and his men across the Delaware River into Pennsylvania. On Christmas of 1776, Washington sent 2,400 troops across Delaware to attack German Mercs.

    Washington and his army were running out of food and supplies to stay alive in a camp during the time of winter. The camp took place in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania and more than 2,000 people died by being cold and hunger. All that was left was Washington and his army were stacks of letters to the Congress

    The Battle of Saratoga
    A british General, John Burgoyne led an Expeditionary force from Canada to Albany with a plan of meeting other british armies to take out New England from the rest of the colonies. But then, the british armies abandoned the plan and went to Philadelphia to occupy the city. The patriots army regrouped at New York and New England and fighted Burgoyne forces which then he surrender on October 17, 1777 at Saratoga.

    Marquis De Lafayette
    Friedrich von Steuben and Marquis De Lafayette helped and trained the American troops and have a amazing transformation. Lafayette went to France and influence the French reinforcements and was in charge of Virginia for the last years of the war. European military leaders also help the American troops and it lead to a massive war. The Revolutionary War started.

    In the Continental Congress problem was paying the troops. A rich Philadelphia merchant, Robert Morris and his associate Haym Salomon raised money for the Continental Army and the Philadelphia's Quakers and Jews. The war effected many civilians, men went off to war, many women have to do their jobs at home. Many went to war to help out the men and even take action in the fight. Many African Americans joined and Native Americans remain to stay on the side of the war and keep their independence.

    The Battle of Yorktown
    When the British was defeated in Saratoga, they mover their operation to the South. Cornwallis moved his army to Virginia and camped out in the rivers of James and York at Yorktown. When Cornwallis had a plan for an attack, the French and American troops surrounded the British in Yorktown and engaged an attack. The British surrender and the Americans took the win of the Revolutionary War.

    In Paris in 1783 of September, the delegates signed the peace Treaty of Paris. This was for the U.S independence and for new boundaries of the new nations. Atlantic Ocean, Mississippi River, Canada, and the Florida border are now apart of the United States.
