The Roosevelt arrived at Cape Sheridan and Matt began training the new men in the art of dogs driving,igloo building and survival.

Matt and his team were ready to go to the pole,each man took a special possesion,Matt took his bible.

Bartlett and Borup left Cape Columbia to pioneer the trail to leave.

Matt and his team started the journey to the North Pole.

The trail was so choppy Matts sledge broke and he had to repair it before they left.Henson and Peary caught up with Bartlett.

Matt and his team could not cross the big lead because it was not frozen over.

On March 11th Matt and his team could finally cross the Big Lead.

It was time for Ross Marvin to turn to go back ,and three other men already have.

Peary and Henson caught up with Bob beside a wide lead while everyone was asleep .The ice split and the dogs,Bartlett and the eskimos were floating away,and they jumped to saftey.

It was Bartletts turn to go back,he was mad he could not go to the pole.

Peary started out on foot to start out in front then on a sledge.

Matt calculated an estimate that they have marched 100 miles and only 35 miles to go.

Matt felt tremendously proud that they made it to the pole.Matt tried to shake Peary's hand but Peary wouldn't let him.

Matt and his team made it back to New York, in one piece because it was a dangerous journey.
