The Act Of Union and The Segregation Era

  • Political Reconciliation

    Due to political reconciliation of two white people in South Africa a measure of self government were granted to consider the possibility of a full political union of the four colonies.
  • South African Act

    The agreement of the South African Act which is also known as the Act of Union , meant that South Africa was in full effect as an independent state.
  • South African Party

    Due to the South African Party (SAP) win , meant enforced African oppression. In 1912 , (SANNC) tried to defend political interest away from "one stream" policy which helped reunite whites.
  • "One Stream" Policy

    During the time of the "one stream" policy , the radical national party was formed under leadership of (JBM Hertzog). The African entry into the very First World War which then failed Afrikaner rebellion followed to harden political divisions.
  • Prime Minister

    After Hertzog gained power and replaced the primer minister , the NP leader increased discrimination of Africans.
  • The 30's

    Many countries across the world abandoned the "gold standard" so Hertzog and Smuts came together to form the United Party which led to Malan forming the GNP in order to retaliate so the new United Party.
  • Finally at Peace

    The ANC and the CPSA both organized prominent protest and strikes and now millions of Black Africans and Whites live alongside in the cities at peace
  • The Verdict

    After the strikes and protests white policy makers were still asking questions. There was a general election held and the White people of South Africa presented their verdict and the (NP) and its policy apartheid.
