The ABC Murderers

  • The first letter

    • Its June and Captain Hasting has after a 6 months stay on a ranch in Africa, turned home to England where he looked up an old friend, Hercule Poirot. Poirot is a well known private detective, and has recently received an anonymous letter witch he shows Hastings. Poirot and Hasting are unsure whether to take this letter seriously or not, considering many likes to play a hoax with such things. All they can do is wait.
  • The second letter

As the letter conveyed; “DEAR MR POIROT, - Well, what about it? First game to me, I think. The Andover business went with a swing, didn’t it? But the fun’s only just beginning. Let me draw your attention to Bexhill-on-Sea. Date, the 25th inst. What a merry time we are having! Yours etc. A B C” Even though they know when and where the crime will take place, they conclude that it’s a situation hard to do anything with, considering they know nothing of the murderer or who will be targeted.
  • Elizabeth Barnard

The body of a young girl was found on the beach, with an A C B underneath the body. Cause of death; strangled with her own belt. Fingerprints were unattainable. The young girl was Elisabeth Barnard who was a waitress at a local café. She was supposedly engaged to Donald Fraser, but liked to have her fun with men while she still was unmarried. Donald Fraser was known as a calm and well-mannered man, but as conveyed by Elizabet’s sister Megan Barnard, he had a tempered and violent side.
  • The unsure

By this point Poirot has an intuition that the names of the victims and the name of the town of the crime is chosen by the alphabet. That it’s an alphabet complex. It is also suspected it’s a sex complex, but this will be further proven or disproven by the next murder. It is questioned wether they should make the chase for the Abc mundurer public or not, considering Poirot is sure this is what the murderer wants.
  • The third letter

As the letter conveyed; “POOR MR POIROT, - Not as good at these little criminal matters as you thought yourself, are you? Rather past your prime perhaps? Let us see if you can do any better this time. This time its an easy one. Churston on the 30th. Do try and do something about it! It’s a bit dull having all my own way, you know!
    Good hunting. Ever yours, A B C”
  • Sir Carmichael Clarke

Sir Carmichael Clarke has been found with his head badged in, with and open A B C faced down of the victims body. He is man with good wealth, no children, but married. Sadly, his wife is very ill.
The murder was committed while Sir Carmichael was taking his annual evening stroll. This means that the murderer was aware of this habit, and most likely was observing Sir Carmichael prior to the murder.
  • More-Sir Charmichael

Thora Gray was Carmichael’s secretary. Poirot and Hasting interrogated her, but as she exclaimed, she did not notice anything suspicious or unusual prior to the murder. The murder of Sir Carmichael Clarke was a big deal within media and gathered lots of attention. Everyone was now looking for the A B C murderer.
  • Lady Clarke

Poirot and Hasting goes to investigate Lady Clarke, wife of fallen sir Carmichael. She tells them that Thora Gray is lying and that she spoke to a strange man the day of the murderer of her husband.
  • The stocking seller

Thora Gray gets questioned on Lady Clarks claims she talked with a man on the murder of Sir Carmichael. Thora explained she had forgotten, and that he was a man selling stockings.
Poirot then remembers the pair of stockings found in ms Aschers bedroom, and the pair of stockings Elizabeths mom had bought for her the day she got murdered. They were surtant they had found their murderer.
  • The fourth letter

    As the letter convey;
"Poor Mr Poirit. I'mquite sorry for you. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. We've a long way to go still. Tipperary? No- that comes farther on. Letter T. The next little incident will take place at Doncaster on September 11th.
    So long A B C.
  • The cinema

In a cinema in Doncaster a man left while the movie still was playing. On his way to the exit he ost his hat onto the row before him, he bower down over and picked up his hat before leaving. When the movie was over, there was a little commotions over a sleeping man who wouldn't wake up to move his legs so the person beside him could leave. Quickly they understood he was not asleep, but dead.
  • Mr Cust

Mr rust had just left the cinema, and was now back at the hotel he was staying at. He saw that his cuff was filled with some red substance, and his hand rapidly slipped into his pocked, and brought out a sharp, bloody knife.
  • The Doncaster Murder

The man who was "sleeping" in the cinema, was actually dead. Stabbed in the back. Lying on the floor between the victims legs were an A B C. The victim's name was George Earlsfield, so it was considered the murder of the wrong person, considering the person sitting just a few seats away from the victim has D as its first letter in its surname.
  • The unveiling of the murderer

Mr Cust has for quite a long time stayed at an in, the ones owning the in has started to notice that Mr Cust has been away at all the murder happenings. Also have they found a few other clues that connects him to the A B C murderer, such as a large number of A B C's. They are suspicious of him and goes to the police with the information. The hot water lady at the hotel Mr Cust stayed at in Doncaster, saw Mr Cust washing away all the blood. She ended up going to the police with it.
  • The capture of the A B C murderer

The police were going to investigate Mr Cust on the accusations, but he got a call from a mysterious lady who warned him about it. In a panic he fled. He ended ups in Andover by the ms Aschers little shop, but as last he winded up walking into a police station and fainting.
  • Poirit's preach

The last happening was Poirot investigation of Mr Cust, and lastly him having preach of explanation of the murderers. I will not say what happened, because I don't want to spoil the real excitement:)
  • Ms Ascher

    • An old woman was found dead in her small tobacco shop in Andover. Her name is miss Ascher and they find out the woman died from a blow to the back of the head. The first suspect was her husband Mr Ascher who was known for his temper and threatening the life of his wife. But this gets countered by the anonymous letter Poirov received, and the matter that there was found an A B C (better known as a railway guide) on the counter of Ms Ascher’s shop. The ABC did not contain fingerprints.
