    Music in which the performer rhymes with music. Rap is from African American communities in New York City. Rap gained traction in 1979 after the Sugar Hill Gang released "Rapper's Delight". In the late 80s, another sector of rap came to be known as “gangsta rap” appeared.

    A toy invented by Erno Rubik to help his students understand 3-D problems and had a global launch in 1980. The initial sales were modest until the company launched a television ad campaign. The Rubik's Cube has had a place in pop culture ever since.

    Dianna was born in 1961. She married Charles prince of Wales in 1981. Princess Diana divorced Charles in 1996
  • Reaganomics

    Reaganomics

    Policies that attempted to reduce taxation, government spending, and inflation. These policies ultimately failed and caused a major recession. Even though the policies failed numerous middle-class citizens still believed in Reagan's competence.

    A rise of conservative individuals in contrast to the hippies of the 60s. The new focus was right-wing ideologies and capitalism. These people were called yuppies.

    PLO Truck Bomb

    A terrorist attack on a US barracks in Beirut. These attacks were during the Lebanese civil war. The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber in a dump truck with explosives. who broke through the gates and detonated the bomb when reaching the barracks

    Rock Hudson

    One of the first known actors to die from AIDS complications. This event brought attention to the disease. He kept his homosexuality a secret.
