    Roanoke Colony is Lost and is Called the Lost Colony
    The English tried to find a colony because the other countries already had found a lot of land, so Queen Elizabeth I sent Walter Raleigh and his family to this colony and find it. Walter went back to England for more food, but the English were in war with France and needed any ship they could get. Walter went back to Roanoke colony years later, he found no one, only the words Croatone. He then went back to England and never spoke of it again.

    Jamestown Settlement was founded because there were 104 men and boys that were going to make a colony in Virginia. They finally decided to make a settlement called Jamestown. It later became the first permanent settlement in the colonies.
