Thank You Jackie Robinson

  • Meeting

    Meeting
Davy and Sam meet for the first time, and they find out they both love the Dodgers. Sam shows Davy his talent of remembering every ball game for the Dodgers in the last 3 years. I chose this because it started Sam and Davy's friendship.
  • The Ball Game

    The Ball Game
Davy takes Sam to his very first Dodgers game. Where he sees someone on the other team try to spike Jackie Robinson. This is significant because it was Sam's very first Dodger game.
  • Ballparks

Sam and Davy decide to go to lots of different ballparks to see the Dodgers play, because Sam thinks Ebbets Field is a lousy ballpark. This leads up to them going to see lots of different ballparks.
  • The Trip

Davy, Elliot, Henrietta, and Sam go to Pittsburg to see a ball game. To complete their task of seeing the Dodgers play in other ballparks. I chose this because it's the farthest ballpark they went to.
  • Feeling Sick

Sam's mother tells Sam to go on a walk with her. On the walk She tells Sam that Davy is very sick. This is significant because it leads Sam to do lots of things he normally wouldn't.
  • Ebbets Field

Sam sneaks himself out of the house so he can go to ebbets field. To get a ball Davy as a present. This important because it gets Sam more than he expected.
  • Jackie Robinson

    Jackie Robinson
Sam meets Jackie Robinson while trying to get him to sign a ball for Davy. after the game The whole Doodgers team signs a ball that Jackie Robinson hit, and Jackie gives to Sam. This is important because Sam thought he might only get one player to sign the ball, but he got the whole team to sign it.
  • Sneaking Around

Sam wants to give the ball to Davy as a present, but he can't unless he sneaks in to the hospital. He goes to Henrietta house, and Elliot helps Sam sneak in. This is significant because it lets Sam see Davy.
  • Sam and Davy

    Sam and Davy
Sam gets into the hospital, and gives the ball to Davy. He realizes that Davy is more sick than he thought because Davy didn't know who the Dodgers were playing. I chose this because it tells Sam that Davy is really sick.
  • The Climax

Sam cries his eyes out because he knows Davy is really sick and is going to die.
  • Passing

Davy passes away because of his illness that was really severe. This changes Sam's perspective. He wishes he never knew Davy because he has to deal with the loss.
  • The Funeral

Sam doesn't want to go to the funeral, but his mom makes him go anyway. Sam doesn't want to go see the body, but when he does he said that it wasn't really Davy's body because it looked like a wax dummy. This is important because Sam is forced to do things that he doesn't want to.
  • Jackie Saves the Day

Sam doesn't want to listen to his radio because he wants to feel bad for himself. He turns it on anyway to hear the Dodgers game, and Jackie Robinson hits the ball, and makes Sam feel better. This important because it gives Sam a lift.
