Terrorist Attacks perpetrated by ISIS in Europe

  • Shooting at the Jewish Museum in Brussels, Belgium

    Three people were killed and one was seriously injured. The perpetrator of the attack was Mehdi Nemmouche.
  • Tours, France

    Three police officers were stabbed by a 20-year-old French citizen. The attacked posted the ISIS flag on his Facebook page, so the attack is believed to have been inspired by the group.
  • Kosher Grocery Store, Paris

    Four hostages were killed by Amedy Couibaly in Paris, right after the Charlie Hebdo attacks. He allegedly shot a police officer in Paris the night before. He pledge allegiance to the terrorist group in video, right before the attack.
  • Copenhagen, Denmark

    A gunman killed two people and injured five police officers in a free speech forum and near a synagogue. He sworn allegiance to al-Baghdadi before the shooting.
  • Multiple attacks in Paris, France

    Several attacks were perpetrated in Paris. They took place in a soccer match and in the Bataclan concert hall. At least 130 were killed.
  • Brussels Airport, Belgium

    At least 32 people were killed in two explosions that took place at the aiport and at a subway station in the Maalbeek district of the capital. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
  • Magnanville, France

    A police office and his romantic partner were killed by Larossi Abballa in the town of Magnanville, located near Paris. The perpetrator pledge allegiance to the terrorist group during the attack.
  • Nice, France

    84 people were killed and many more injured in Nice, during France's national day. Mouhamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, the perpetrator of the attack, drove a truck into crowds and was inspired by the Islamic State.
  • Train in Wurzburg, Germany

    Muhhammad Riyad launched a knife attack on passengers that were on a train in the region of Bavaria. Five people were injured and the terrorist was shot to death.
  • Normandy Church, France

    Armed men killed a priest and several hostages they took during a mass in Normandy. The police shot the attackers to death, and ISIS has claimed responsibility.
  • Louvre, Paris

    A man tried to attack a group of soldiers guarding the Louvre with a knife. He did not killed anybody but his acts were of terrorist nature. It is believed the attack was inspired by ISIS.
  • Westminster, Great Britain

    Khalid Masood killed four people crushing his car into the railings outside the Parliament and stabbing a police officer to death. He was shot by the police. It has not been confirmed the attack was perpetrated by ISIS, but it seems to have been inspired by it.
  • Stockholm, Sweden

    5 people were killed and 11 injured in an attack in which a hijacked truck was driven into crowds along Drottninggatan (Queen Street). The perpetrator of the attack was Rakhmat Akilov, who, according to the police, has show interest in ISIS. He is currently on trial.
