Radio
In 1873 James Clark Maxwell first invented the radio, and David Hughes updated his inventio in 1878. Marconi was also considered one of the inventors of the radio. In 1938, during WWII, this device was very popular because it broadcasted news from the war to the world. -
Telephone
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. Bell taught deaf students and knew how the ear was constructed, so he designed the telephone according to the shape of the ear. The first phone didn't have numbers, but used an operator who connected the caller with the person he was trying to reach. -
Gramophone
The gramophone came out of the United States by Emile Berliner, who was Jewish. He immigrated to the U.S. from Germany. The gramophone was operated by hand and the sound flowed through a trumpet-like device. In 1896, the gramophone was updated so that it could operate by motor. In the 20th century, the electronic gramophone was invented and used speakers. -
Television
Paul Nipkow invented the idea for the television in 1884. The model was based on the idea of spinning disks, and in 1907, the first t.v. was ready for use. The first analog television was made in London in 1924 by John Logie Baird. Electronic t.v.s were invented in 1927 by Philo Farnsworth. -
Computer
Claude Shannon was one of many developers of the digital computer. He used an empty tube, binary numbers, and renewing memory to produce his device. In 1948, an American team developed a new type of computer called "Phone Newman Architecture." This model became the basis for most of the computers we use today. In 1955, there was a new electronic computer invented by an Israeli, Machon Whitesman. The new computers are based on transistors and not the empty tube. They are smaller and cheaper. -
Internet
The Internet is a global computer net that connects millions of computers all over the world. Paul Barren was one of the fathers of the Internet. The first Internet communication was made in 1969 by Leonardo Clinerock from the University of California. Charlie Cline was also involved. The first word that was broadcast was "log-in." The United States invested much time and money to develop the Internet. Science and universities were also involved in order to be able to transmit information. -
E-Book
The first electronic book project was called the Rothenberg Project in 1970. In 1990, with the development of the Internet, it became very easy to transmit electronic files from user to user and electronic books began to become popular. In 2010, Apple came out with the iPad and iBook and sold Apps for electronic books. -
Cell Phone
The cell phone was invented in the 1990s as a portable telephone based on the Internet. -
Skype/Apps
Skype is a type of phone software that was invented in 2003. A Swedish businessman named Niklas Zennström, along with Janus Friis. Skype used the Internet to communicate by phone for free. Other Apps have also been created and have revitalized computer and Internet use.
