  • Syria starts to protest

    Syria starts to protest
After killing protestors Syrian police seal off the city of Daraa. Citizens were able to leave but not enter the city. This is important because this was one of the last straws for Syrian people and they went out in full protest.

    Syrian Uprising

  • Protests spread to surrounding cities of Daraa

Protests spread to surrounding cities of Daraa
Cities surround Syria are joining the protests for freedom. Government troops open fire against people raising the death tol to 55 people. I think this is important because the portest have started spreading all around Syria. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/25/syria-protest-spreads-troops
  • Syrians president fires cabinet

Persident Bashar al-Assad fries he cabinet and sparks even more anger in the citzens. This is important because it just made Syrian citizens more angry and probably got more people involved in the protest http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/29/syrian-president-sacks-cabinet
  • One of the biggest protests leves 22 people dead

One of the biggest protests leves 22 people dead
As the protests move closer to Damascus and 22 people were shot. Because of the thousands of protestors abulance was unable to provide assistance. The even is a big part of the uprising because it shows how brutal the military forces are being against the Syrians when the protestors are protesting peacefully http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/08/syria-unrest-killed-damascus-assad
  • Soldiers shot for not killing protestors

Soldiers shot for not killing protestors
Because of the security "cackdown" in Syria the army started to refuse to shot the protestors so the government proceeded to shot and kill the solders. This is probably one of the most important events because it shows that the government is ruthless and isnt going to show mercy and the protestors probably got more of the military on their side. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/12/syrian-soldiers-shot-protest
  • Persident says its not his fault for the killings

Persident says its not his fault for the killings
Assad says in an interview "They are military forces who belong to the government. I don't own them. I'm president. I don't own the country." This one is especially important to be because it just goes to show how ridiculious the persident is. He doesnt know what hes talking about hes just trying to make himself look good instead of fixing the very serious promblem happening in his country.
