Syria's Cabinet Resigns
President Bashar al-Assad had dismissed his cabinet and had recommended changes in his first public intervention. He later expected to win peoples trust at his so far biggest speech. This is an important event because Syria's protestors have been shocked by the regions uprising and Assad is on the mission to fix the problems. -
Assad Talks about Reform
President Assad failed to meet the protestors goals though his 11-year rule. He also calims that reform is needed to strenghten the country. At the speech to his new cabinet, Syria's protest movement said that it was too late for this speech. This is an important event because Assad ignored the main demands of the people: freedom and democracy. -
President Assad blames Security Forces for Uprising
Assad blames troops for using heavy machine while going against those uprising against the government. The UN and EU are taken measures against the Syrian Leadership because of the brutality and unorganized troops. This incident is serious because it shows the type of person Assad is by letting police officers kill more than 850 people over the past two months. -
Rebels Unite to Remove Assad from Position
Groups against President Assad have agreed to start a national council to try and remove him from power. The idea came into mind after another bloody uprising in Syria killing many people. This is important because these oposition groups can gain supporters from Syrians wanting to end Assad's rule. -
Syrian's vote as problems still trouble
Syrian's vote at local elections while protest occurs. Some voters used their ballot papers by writing things on them going against the government. This event is important as well because it shows how Syrians will not stop until they get what they want.
