On February 15th, 1820 Susan B. Anthony was born in Adams Massachusetts. Here is a picture of her house. -
Susan meets Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
In 1851 Susan B. Anthony met Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who was a leader in the new women's rights movement. -
Susan and Elizabeth work to help free the slaves.
During the Civil War (1861-1865) Susan and Elizabeth worked to help the slaves gain their freedom. -
Women gain the right to keep their property.
On January 29th, 1866 a law that required women to give their property to men when they were married was amended. This unfair law was changed allowing women to keep the property they worked for and earned! -
Susan B Anthony votes!
On election day November 5th, 1872 Susan voted! It was still against the law for women to vote. She was arrested but her vote still counted! -
Susan B Anthony dies.
On March 13th, 1906 Susan B. Anthony died. -
Women are allowed to vote!
In 1920, a new law gave women the right to vote. -
Silver dollar minted!
In 1978 the Susan B Anthony silver dollar was minted to honor this determined women who fought for equal rights.
