Stalin becomes leader of the USSR

After four years of leadership struggle, Stalin has finally beat Trotsky, Zinoviev, Bukharin and Kamenev and against all odds become the eader of the USSR.

The first Five-Year Plan was introduced

The first five year plan concentrated on the heavy industries, the second one (1933-37) on consumer goods and the third one (1938-1941) on luxuries

Stalin began to collectivise the agriculture

Jan 1, 1929

Stalin wanted to collectivise the agriculture to feed his nation but met a huge opposition from the peasants that wanted to keep their land. The collectivisation continued until the 1940s.

The purges begun

Jan 1, 1932

Stalin introduced the purges by killing Ryutin, a politician that held a speech that criticised stalin's economic policies. After this Stalin's show trials and purges where he killed millions of people took off.
