Stages of Language Development

    Prenatal Development

    Mother goes through the first, second, and third trimester getting to know her body and preparing for delivery.

    Birth to 3 Months

    The infant will react to loud noises, cries for different purposes, and makes cooing noises

    4 to 6 Months

    The infant will react to different sounds, observes toys that play music and make noise.

    10 to 12 Months

    Infants starts using gestures and toddlers say their first word.

    Infants babbling starts to include many sounds and they establish attention to parent or caregiver.

    Toddlers start to recognize and pint to body parts and understands more words

    Toddlers combine words and copies sounds.

    The toddler uses 3 - 4 word sentences and answers questions with yes or no.
