This case was pivotal because the ruling was in favor of the students with learning disabilities. This made it so students with disabilities got the proper help they needed for their education. -
Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia
This made it illegal for the D.C. Board of Education to deny "exceptional" students to public-funded educational activities. -
Education for All Handicapped Children Act
This act was signed by President Gerald Ford and said schools that take money from the federal government had to give an equal education to students with disabilities. This act also gave these students one free meal a day. -
Public Law 99-457
This is an amendment to the All Handicapped Children Act. This made it so states had to give resources to families that had a child with a disability when before this the help would not come until the age of 3. -
