    The flu died down pretty quickly but a second wave emerged among the British and French troops around early July and mid August.
  • Third Wave

    Around October, the flu got worse in countries as far apart as South Africa, Japan, China, Peru, Greece and Italy. The worldwide toll around the world at the time was believed to be around 50 million.
  • When It Started In NZ

    The pandemic spread to New Zealand around October and December, killing around 9000 people in just two months. The Maori suffered especially, with around 2500 deaths.

    The Spanish Flu was said to be started in The United States at an army cook in Kansas. Though it is likely that it was around before.
  • When It Ended

    The Influenza infected around 500 million people which was around a third of the world's population at the time and over 50 million deaths worldwide. It lasted from February 1918 to April 1920.
