  • Sputnik 1

    Russia launched the first satellite to ever orbit earth Sputnik 1. Sputnik 1 allowed the USSR to record and view Earth and distant planets.

  • Explorer 1

    The Explorer 1 was the first US satellite to orbit Planet Earth. This event allowed the US to view Earth and other planets.

  • NASA

    The creation of NASA had allowed the USA to have a main base for spacial expiriments,tests and to launch drones, shuttles,etc.

  • Vostok 1

    USSR launched the Vostok 1 which carried Yuri Gagarin into space. He was the person to ever be in space.

  • Freedom 7

    Freedom 7 waunched by the USA had us caught up in the space race and held the first American in space.

  • Friendship 7

    The Friendship 7 was the first spaceship to orbit Earth. The Friendship 7 held Austronaut John Glenn and circled the Earth 3 times.

  • Surveyor

    This unmanned drone`s mission was to find a safe spot for the USA`s shuttles to land on.

  • Apollo 11

    The Apollo 11 mission was the first mission to allow people to step on the moon. Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the men on this mission. This event ended the "space race" in an unofficial USA victory.

  • Apollo 11 Lands on the Moon

    This event was the first ship with a human crew to ever land on the Moon. Six hours later on July 20th Niel Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon.

  • Hubble Telescope

    The Hubble telescope was launched into orbit of the Earth and is still used to take pictures and videos of distant planets.
