Salva Hears GunFire
Salva was sitting at his desk in school waiting to walk down that little gravel road to go home. Then all of a sudden the teacher hears a loud noise that sounds like gunfire the teacher tells everyone to get down. They are all getting up and then all of a sudden they hear another one that is for sure gunfire which then the teacher tells them all to run and hide in the bushes for safety. -
Salva Finds an Old Lady
Salva was walking out of the barn after the people had left him in there because he would have been a burden to the group. They already had a young toddler with them. Salva stayed with the her for 3 days. The old lady says that she will be moving away from the war and she will not be able to care for him much longer. They see a few men walking and Salva realizes they are Dinka men. Salva asks if they would take him but most said no. This one man comes by and says we'll take him he's Dinka.
