The dinosaur saw Eckels. They begin to fight it.

They find out that Eckels went off the path while battling the beast.

Travis threatens to leave Eckels there, but instead of leaving him there, he makes him remove the bullets from the dinosaur.

They arrive back to present day and Eckels notices a dead butterfly on the bottom of him shoe. Eckels realizes that his little creature's death caused many things to change such as language and who has won the election.

Travis kills Eckels for killing the butterfly and causing changes in present day.
