    Eckel was looking at the sign on the wall that read, "TIME SAFARI, INC.
    SAFARIS TO ANY YEAR IN THE PAST.
    YOU NAME THE ANIMAL.
    WE TAKE YOU THERE.
    YOU SHOOT IT." He then had the check for ten thousand dollars for the man behind the desk to pay for his trip to the safari. The man said that the safari does not guarantee him coming back alive, however, it did guarantee dinosaurs. Mr. Travis is the tour guide and he will tell him where to shoot and when.

    If he disobeys, there will be severe consequences. Eckel was surprised by the sight of the time machine. He was glad that Keith was now the president of the United States. The only thing that the man told him he had to worry about was shoot the dinosaur. He told him to sign a bunch of papers to scare him. This was mainly because they do not want people who are frightened easily.

    Eckel tears up his personal check, finalizing his decision to go into the safari.
  • Rising Action-1

    Rising Action-1
    Eckel along with Travis, his safari guide, being their journey into the past. There were also four other men in the machine to asisst them. Travis told him how to shoot the dinosaur. The arrived to their destination and Travis told Eckel about how they don't want to change the future. He talked about the snowball effect and how one action might consequently lead to another. There are a distinctive path that they had to stay on so that they wouldn't interfere with the past.

    The animals that they need to shoot are marked with red paint. They were previously studied in order to be percieved as an animal that they needed to kill. They only kill the animals with no future; ones that are going to die anyway.
  • Rising Action-3

    The safari guides explain that they don't know the outcome of the mission even though they have been here before. They left the machine and began to search for their animal. Eckel began to get really nervous. The Tyrannosaurus Rex appeared and Eckel was frightened beyond belief.Travis ordered him to walk back to the machine. Eckel began to walk, but in the wrong direction.

    At the first motion, the animal lunged foward with a scream. The rifles began to shoot.
  • Climax-1

    Climax-1
    Eckel didn't look back because he was so frightened. He walked bllindly and stumbled off the designated path. His feet sank into the green moss.
  • Falling Action-1

    Falling Action-1
    They killed the animal and the tree branch that was originally supposed to kill it crashed upon it with finality. When they came back to Eckel, Travis scolded him and threatened to leave him here by himself. The fact that he nearly killed them in addition to the fact that he went off the path was what had angered Travis.
  • Falling Action-2

    Falling Action-2
    Travis told Eckel that he could come back with them if he went back and dug the bullets out. They went home. When they got back, everything was subtley different. It was then the sign on the door that gave it away. It had changed. Eckel looked down at his show and saw that he had killed a golden butterfly.
  • Resolution-1

    Resolution-1
    Because he had killed that one butterfly, everything was different. As a result of this, Travis raised his weapon and killed Eckel for his detrimental action.
