    The Triple Entente was an alliance between Great Britain, France, and Russia. The purpose of this organization was to form an alliance with these countries. Another purpose was to make sure that Germany can't take over. This group was a continuation of the Anglo-Russian Entente also formed in 1907.The entente stated that if France was ever attack Russia would have to help them. England was linked to this promise, but they will only help if France "morally" needed England's help.

    The Axis Powers were an alliance between the following countries: Germany, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Yugoslavia. The purpose of this organization was to fight against the Allied Powers in WWII. Many famous dictators were in this alliance: Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Hirohito, and Miklós Horthy.

    NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. And the countries in it include USA and Britain. The purpose is to protect one another from being attacked. For example, if France was attacked, another country in the alliance will have to help them. The headquarters of NATO are in Brussels, Belgium.

    NAFTA (North American Fair Trade Agreeement) is an organization created for the purpose of prevention of trading problems. The countries composed of it are Canada, Mexico, and USA.

    The African Union was formed from OAU (Organization of African Unity) in 2002. This organization is composed up of 54 African states, like Ethiopia and Liberia. The purpose of this group is to do the following: to accelerate the political and socio-economic integration of the continent,
    to promote and defend African common positions on issues of interest to the continent and its peoples,
    to achieve peace and security in Africa, and
    to promote democratic institutions.
