A group of Sierra Leone Army officers established the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council as the new government. RUF joined this group and captured Freetwon easily. -
War Finally Ending?
World leaders intervened the war to promote negotiations between the RUF and the government. The result was the signed Lome Peace Accord. -
Rebels Taken Down
The rebels again advance towards Freetown but the British Operation Palliser defeated the RUF. -

President Kabbah Declared the Sierra Leone War to be over.
