Should the death penalty remain available for the worst crimes?

  • The Founding Fathers Allow Death Penalty When Writing The Constitution.

The Founding Fathers Allow Death Penalty When Writing The Constitution.
The founding fathers did write in the constitution that death row is allowed. And they also said in the 5th amendment that it is allowed to take someone's life. But in the 8th amendment it says that any punishment can be banned.
  • Last public execution

    Last public execution
Rainey Bethea was the last public execution and some say that it was a good thing because it helped the end of public executions. And it was the first execution held by a women.
  • Mistakes have happened before

    Mistakes have happened before
Anthony Porter was arrested because a couple was shot and killed. A witness said that he saw Porter running when he heard the shots. But the girl's mom said that it might have something to do with someone that had a problem with the girl's boyfriend about drug money. He was found guilty and sentenced to death row. They executed him, a couple of years later he was found innocent but there was nothing to do anymore, because he was dead.
  • Death penalty is too Inhumane.

Death Penalty is too cruel, I think that this shouldn't be a thing anymore because mistakes happen and you cant reverse back, in case you've made the mistake of killing an innocent person. I think prison sentences would be better than Death penalty.
  • Is way to expensive

When someone is sentenced to Death Row it costs 1.26M, unlike other cases it costs about 740,000.
