Schools in the year 2020

  • Full 1:1 implementation for all Students

All four classes of students will have a Chromebook as their required device.
  • Reduction and removal of traditional "computer labs".

Due to the implementation of our 1:1 initiative, we will no longer need our "drop-in or reservable labs". Our remaining two labs will be eliminated by 2015.
  • Virtual Desktop applications implemented.

Replacing locally installed applications with "Virtual Applications" will be implemented.
  • New multidementional learning spaces begin to form.

The school will need to re-think the design and function of the traditional classrooms and learning commons. We will begin to transform the traditional classrooms into a multi-dimensional learning spaces that appeals to all learners.
  • Tech Staff will be restructured to meet the needs of 1:1 computing.

The traditional duties and tasks of the tech staff will change as a result of the 1:1 initiative. Our school must be creative in the ways that we can provide a high level of service for all of our students.
  • Flipped Classroom and Learning becomes the norm.

Several of our core credit classes will be offered online. Students may also elect to take online classes for supplemental credit. Teachers will alter their instruction time during school hours and allow for more conversations during the class time.
  • 24/7 connected classroom and students will be the norm.

Currently(2014), there are many students who do not have internet connectivity in the home. By creating alliances and parterships with vendors and internet providers, by 2020 ALL students will have connectivity at their residence.
