    February 1692: The Starting
    It started when a group of girls in the Salem Village, in Massachusetts. The girls accused women in the village of witchcraft and said they were all possessed by the devil.
  • Mid and Late February

    Girls named Tituba, Sarah Good, and Sarah Osborne were arrested on February 29th. Tituba told them she saw the devil and he would come to her, she also said there were said to be witches in Salem.
  • March 12th

    March 12th
    Martha Corey was accused of witchcraft.
    Rebecca Nurse was accused as a witch.
    Elizabeth Proctor was also accused as a witch.
    Sarah Cloyce, and Rebecca Nurse’s sister was accused of witchcraft. Deputy Samuel Brabrook arrested four year old Dorcas Good.

    Ann Putnam Jr. said that a man who died at her house haunts her and she accused Giles Cory of witchcraft.
  • April 30th - May 2nd

    A lot of girls accused the Village's minster George Burroughs of witchcraft. He was than arrested in Maine on May 4th, 1692 and on May 7th, 1692 he was brought back to Salem and had been put in jail.
  • May 10th

    Margaret finally confessed and said that her grandfather and George Burroughs were witches. Sarah Osborne however died in prison.
  • June 2nd - June 10th

    June 2nd - June 10th
    A girl named Bridget Bishop was the first person guilty of doing witchcraft and was convicted to death. Bridget was then hanged in Salem and she was the first case of execution for the Salem witch trials.
  • July 19th

    July 19th
    Rebecca Nurse, Susannah Martin, Elizabeth Howe, Sarah Good, and Sarah Wildes were all hanged at Gallows Hill because Joseph Ballard began the Andover witch hunt.
  • August 5th - 19th

    August 5th - 19th
    5 more people were hanged because they were found guilty for doing witchcraft, but Elizabeth Proctor was not hanged because she had been said to be pregnant.
  • September 9th - 17th

    September 9th - 17th
    Through this time 15 more people were found guilty and were sentenced to be hung. Most of them were females who were found guilty.
  • Setember 19th

    In mid September Giles Corey was charged. Giles has witchcraft against him but he didn't want to enter the plea for the chargers so he was then put under a weight and died two days after.
  • October 8th - 29th

    October 8th - 29th
    Governor Phis ordered that there would be no more evidence admitted into the witchcraft trails. He then banned any other arrests, and he let go many accused witches.
