Russia decided to finally give into the Chechen demand for independence that had been made complete with a declaration in 1917. After the declaration Russia decided to invade Chechnya and occupy it. After consideration Russia decided to give Chechnya limit independance.

In the end, 200 hundred people were killed, and around 700 people were hospitalized. Russian troops were in efforts to save hostages, but were troubled by death threats. 27 rebels were killed while 3 lived.
