    This event is about how the Russian revolution started.The way it started was that women who worked in factories went out and started to protest in the streets. It was Interantional Womens Day and the women of Russia wanted a change to be made. The reason this event is important is because they were protesting due to the miserable conditions they lived in and the long hours they had to work to provide for their families.

    This event is about the fifty demonstarators that were killed in the Znamenskaya Square. The reason this event is important is because Nicholas II ordered the commander of the Petrograd military district to supress the demonstarators with force and discontinued the State Duma.

    The Petrograd Soviet is established
    This event is about the Petrograd soviet being established. The reason this event is important is because the Petrograd Soviet was the representative body of the city's workers and soldiers. They were also a rival power center to the Provisional Government.
  • Nicholas ll of Russia

    This event is about the abdication of Nicholas II of Russia by the petrograd insurgents, and a provincial government was installed in his place. The reason this event is important is because after he left the throne, his reign saw the fall of Imperial Russia from being one of the foremost great powers of the world to economic and military collapse.

    This event is about how the Provisonal Government was made on the same day that Nicholas II of Russia was abdicated from his throne. The reason this event is important is because the Provisonal Governement introduced freedom of speech, assembly, and lifted the tsarist restrictions on minorities.

    This event is about Lenin Vladmir returning to Russia after being exiled to Siberia. Lenin Vladmir was a Russian Communist revolutionary, politician, and political theorist. The reason this event is important is because his return meant that he wanted to take rein of the Russian Revolution.

    This event is about the "April Days" which were mass demonstrations by workers, soldiers, and others in the streets of Petrograd and Moscow. The reason this event is important is because the reason this happened was that publications of the foreign Minister Pavel Miliukov's notea triggered them and the first Provisonal Government fell.

    This event is about the Provisonal Government launching an attack against Germany that failed. The reason this event is important is because right after the government ordered the soldiers to go to the front but they refused to follow orders since they demanded peace.

    This event is about the attack against Austro-Hungarian forces, which intially was a success. The reason this event is important is becasue later on the Germans and Austro-Hungarians counter-attacked the Russians and they retreated in panic, while destroying the town of Tarnpol. Immediately after an arrest order was made against the Bolshevik leaders.

The reason this event is important is because the result of doing this was that there was a temporary decline in the Bolshevik power and their influence in the period before the October revolution.

    This event is about how Alexander Kerensky took over the Provisional Government. The reason this event is important is because Alexander Karensky joined the cabinet that had six other socialist ministers so that he could form a new government.

    This event is about the Kornilov Affair which was an attempted military coup d'état by the commander-in-chief of the Russian army, General Lavr Kornilov. The reason this event is important is because after his failure Kornilov was removed from his position and incarcerated.

    This event is about Russia being declared a republic. The reason this event is important is because it was short-lived only lasting less than eight months after the October revolution and the establishment of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

    This event is about how Vladimir Antonov-Ovseyenko led the Bolshevik assault to capture the Winter Palace and arrested the ministers of the Russian Provisional Government. The reason this event is important is because by doing this he was elected to the Military Committee of Sovnarkom and right after given a high position in the Red Army.

    This event is about the first Bolshevik decrees which had the outlined measures which the peasants were to divide up rural land among themselves. The reason this event is important is because it supported the forceful dissolution of many wealthy estates by peasant forces and it also decreased the number of soldiers at the Russian War front due to them coming back to secure land for themselves.
