Women in this time also started dressing less formally and some came to be known as flappers, as they wore loose clothing and begain doing activities outside what they were expected to at the time.

Women who chose to work when they didn't need the paycheck were often considered selfish.

For example, Sarah Day O'Connor became the first woman to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, a very complex and revered position within the court system.
