  • Eugene V. Deb

    He was important because he was the founding members of the IWW and he was canidate of for president 5 times. The people really liked him.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    This law was signed under the presidency of Chester A. Arthur. It states that immigration could no longer be allowed and Chinese laborers were being prohibited.
  • Jim Crow Laws

    Jim Crow Laws made up the rules of segregation. These said where whites can eat, drink, sit, and use the bathroom. Same for the blacks, but their resources were no where near as close as how nice the whites were. These laws ended in 1886.
  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    This event was tragic because many many innocent people died.The people that all died on this trip were on their way to U.S. right before they entered WW1. This siking also had a lot of war ammunition on it so everyhting that was going to get carried over was also destroyed.
  • Zimmerman Telegram

    This was important because Germany proposed an alliance with Mexico while the U.S. was on its way to go to war with Germany
  • Sedition Act

    This act extended the Espinoage act. it covered speech and act of poinions for war and all the battles going on.
  • 18 and 21st Ammendment

    These ammendements were important because the 18th ammendment prohibited the distrubution and manufacturing of alcohol. The 21st ammendment repealed the 18th ammendment in December 5th, 1933 for alcohol to be legal again.
  • Immigration act of 1924

    This act determined how many immigrants were allowed to come into the U.S.. They had to come up with something like this because there were so many immigrants coming into the U.S. and it was getting over populated and there was just not enough room.
  • John Scopes-The Monkey Trail

    This trial was based on a teacher who was teaching evolution to his school students. It wasn't allowed, it was actually agaisnt the law in Tennesee. He got taken to trial for this choice he made which people thought was a crime. He was found guilty.
  • Red Scare

    The Red Scare was the promotion to scare people about communisim rising. This accured after the Russian revolution.
