    The Sugar Act was started after the seven year war to pay of debt. It placed tariffs on sugar, coffee, wines, and other products imported into America. Writs of assistanc come from this, witch allowed British to boared and searchany ship entering or leaving American arbors.
  • Stamp Act

    Tax on all printed goods in the colonies. This was an direct tax, and the protest from America grew louder, stronger and more violent over this. Two ways they protested this was Boy cotts, refusing to buy British goods or printed material. and non-importation agreement, refusing to purchase or sell british goods in markets and stores. This time became very violent or illegal in methids in their protesting. Tarrng and feathering, smuggle goods still and attacking verbally and physically.
  • 1st Quartering Act

    1st Quartering Act
    Quartering Acts were used b the British forces in the American colonies to ensure that British soldiers had adequate husing and provsions. This act uset the colonist, because they loose money feedin them. Also having someone live in your house who has more power than you. And if British soldier commited a crime they would go back home to be trialed. Colonist mad knowing they would be asy on them.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a killing of five colonist by British soldiers on March 5. It was the culmination of tensions in the American colonies, that had been growing since troops first appeared in Massachusetts. A mob of colonist canfronted a detachment of nine british soldiers, the scene turned ugly fast with snow, ice, and stones began to fly in the direction of the soldiers. Soldiers becoming nervous it took only one word fire, five bodies fell.Within days the incident became Boston Massacre.

    The night of December 16, 1773 about 150 men from all layers of boston's econemy blackened their faces with burnt cork and dressed as Mohak Indians. They aboareded three ships, working for three hours dumping cases of tea into the harbor. 1 millon dollers in tea was dumped. The king's responeded with "The die s now cast." That they already started war cant take it back now.

    British having rouble over in boston, Milita is forming all over massachusets. King George 111 sends 20,000 troops over to suspend the acts. The toops where sent to capture hidden stores of patriot guns and powder, and seize leaders.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Thomas Jefferson gets chosen to write the declaration of Independence. He locked himself away during this time, to have clear mind and not be distracted. Never intended to be original, wrote it the best he thought would expess American mind. July 2 draft introduced to congress and passed by July 4. Dickson refused to sign it, then time for war.
