The French and Indian War
George Washington fought with the British against the French and the Indians to decide who owns Canada. The British won it and they could keep canada.

The Sugar Act
The British put and raised Taxes of foreign stuff they needed and the could not import Rum and French Wines anymore. Taxes got so high that the colonist wanted to set the Taxes by their own. -

The British put on every public thing you could get a stamp or a seal so you had to pay for it. The colonist got angry about it, because they had to pay for things they could get for free earlier. -

Townshend Acts
British put taxes on more things , so the colonies reacted like in the Sugar Act and Stamp Act. The British declined all the taxes but the tax on tea and send more troops in the colonies. -
The Boston Massacre
Redcoats shot on five American colonist and two of them died. Nobody knew if the colonist had weapons and if the British said the truth why they shot. British started sending more troops to Boston. -
The Boston Tea Party
Angry on the taxes on tea people from Boston put on Native American clothes and throwed British tea from the boats in the water. These people were called Sons of Liberty. -
The First Continental Congress
Two groups of people met in Philadelphia to discuss their liberty. These groups were from the 13 colonies and met secretly. -
The Battles of Lexington and Concord
British occupied Boston and wanted to go to Concord to get arms. But Lexington they stopped because of colonists. Someone shot and they started fighting. When the British arrived in Concord the colonist took their arms and the British had to retreat on their way. -

The Continental Congress met again when things in the revolution were going badly. In reason of that, they created the Continental Army and their commander was George Washington. -
