Arrival of Captain James Cook
Captain James Cook was a British explorer and navigator who sailed and discovered many regions like New Zealand, Australia, and New Caledonia. he's most fascinated discovery was Hawaii which he personally called sandwich islands. When captain cook arrived there hem and he's crew were treated like gods because of their use of iron, the ships they came out of, and there appearance. Captain Cook then left the island to go to North Atlantic to the pacific. -
James Cook Second Arrvival
Captain cook sailed on Kealakeua bay which was considered the sacred harbor of Lono (the fertility god of Hawaiians) the locals was celebrating a festival at the time and place detected to Lono and were enraged by the Europeans. -
Captain James Third Arrival And Death
Hawaiians Greeted Cook and his crew by throwing rocks at them and then stole a cutter vessel (A type of boat). Captain cook and he's men retaliated by shooting a lower rank Hawaiian chief. A mob of Hawaiians soon overwhelm cook and his crew, so they have started to fire canons at the Hawaiians leaving 30 of them dead. Captain cook was speared to death. he's body was soon prepared as a ritual which had he's heart divided into 3 and eaten and he's bones were then given to other Hawaiian chiefs. -

Another British navigator found Hawaii. He visited Hawaii as least three times and stop at Maui as a peace maker and traded Hawaiians goods and sold beef and cattle, geese sheep and goats, but refused to trade his firearms. -
Invasion Of John Stevens
John Stevens was a United States minister of Hawaii who brought his American troops and warships onto Honolulu harbor and seized control of the Hawaiians islands making queen Liliuokalani yield here throne. Stevens soon took over the palace and declared U.S. protectorate and raised the American flag over government building. President Harrison agreed with Stevens action and sent an annexation treaty to the senate but then president Grover Cleveland became president and withdrew the treaty. -
Sanford Ballard Dole Overthrows Queen Lili'uokalani
Sanford Ballard was born in Honolulu Hawaii with American parents and becomes its first state governor after it is a territory. Dole submitted a treaty of annexation to the senate to use Hawaii as a naval base during the Spanish American war. -
President Mckinly In Favor Of Annexation Of Hawaii
William McKinley was president at the time of annexation and was urging to have Hawaii as a territory in order to have a base in the pacific during the Spanish American war. McKinley and the leaders of Washington wanted to annex Hawaii before Britain and France got to it. -
