The country becoming bankrupt a drought, poor harvest, cattle disease, rising bread prices, and heavy taxes had a negative impact on the peasants and poor and as a result the French revolution started. During the revolution, citizens destroyed and rebuilt the country's land and a result centuries old monarchy was uprooted.
