    The Nationalist Party fled China to Taiwan to escape the Communists.
  • Great Leap Forward

    The Great Leap Forward was Mao's failed attempt at creating collective farms and setting Five-year plans. This failed, and created a famine that killed 20 million people.
  • Cultural Revolution

    The cultural revolution was Mao's attempt to reassert his beliefs in China. The Red Guard encouraged people to criticize those who didn't agree with Mao.
  • Fall of Saigon

    The South Vietnamese capital, Saigon, fell in 1975. Many South Vietnamese were airlifted out with helicopters.
  • Khmer Rouge

    The Khmer Rouge government was Kampuchea's communist government. They committed crimes against humanity when they arrested, tortured, and killed many people.
