  • Flying Bomb

    Elmer Sperry and Peter Hewitt constructed a radio controlled "Hewitt-Sperry Automatic Airplane" or "Flying Bomb." The plane was able to fly 50 miles whilst carrying a 300 pound bomb.
  • Abraham Karem

    Born in 1937 and by the 1970's Karem was already building aircraft for the Israeli Air Force. In 1980 he moved to LA and started to build aircraft in his garage. A year later he built a aircraft called the "Albatross." It could stay in the air for 56 where as the U.S. drones could only last two hours.
  • Operation Aphrodite

    Operation Aphrodite was planned to strike concealed German laboratories with American B-17 "Flying Fortresses" and B-24 bombers that were stripped down and crammed with explosives. The pilot would fly the plane them parachute out once they crossed the English Channel. A "mothership" would take control.
  • Lightning bugs over Vietnam

    Most of the Lightning Bug missions were located to a new battle zone when the Vietnam war started to heat up. Between 1964 and 1975 more than 1,000 Lightning Bugs flew over 34,000 surveillance missions

  • Bosnian War

    in 1993 the Pentagon issued a requirement to support UN peacekeeping forces in the former Yugoslavia. What is often referred to as the Bosnian war took place between 1992 and 1995. 100,00 people killed, tens of thousands of women raped. GNAT-750 was flown over to provide overhead surveillance to spot Serbian artillery
  • Predator Surveillance

    On September 7th, 2000. The Predator took a photo of what appeared to be Bin Ladan. He was surrounded by a ring of armed bodyguards. This was almost a year before the 9/11 attacks. The Predator struggled to fly during December in he cold winds
  • Armed Predator program

    Predator drones became armed and the Program for the armed Predator drones was activated days over 9/11. The predators reached Afghanistan by September 16th 2001
  • Hellfire

    The first ever CIA drone attack failed. The drone attacked on the 4th of February 2002. The Predator unleashed a Hellfire missle at a "tall man" and his guards. They believed him to be bin Laden. But the analyst had acquired the wrong target.
