    Weaknesses- Principles are considered outdated.

  • Progressive Education

    A theory by John Dewey.
    Description-Education built around the interest of the child. Learning through play in real life situations.
    Strengths- Creates active learning.
    Weaknesses- Never fully adopted in schools.
    Interesting fact- John Dewey would be remembered as the "father of progressive educators".
  • Behaviorism

    1920"s-1950"s
    Description-Learn through imitation and association.
    Strengths-Positive reinforcement
    Weaknesses-No concern for social, emotional or physical development.
    Interesting fact-Some behaviorialists believe that animals operate by "matter in motion".
