This film is a pleasant view of an immigrant Jewish family that has a middle class existence and that about sums it up. The worst thing that happens in this story is that television erodes the family interest from itself. At one Thanksgiving dinner, a relative explodes in fury because they cut the turkey before the relative arrived. He leaves immediately without dinner, in his nice car.

The brutal scene was captured on television, enraging many Americans and drawing civil rights and religious leaders of all faiths to Selma in protest. Hundreds of ministers, priests, rabbis and social activists soon headed to Selma to join the voting rights march. Star rate: 3.5
Selma was not bad but nothing memorable. I didn't know whether it was meant to be a biography of king or an accurate retelling of the civil rights fight, illustration of white racist brutality.
