Marconi Invented the radio. He sent and recieved the first radio signal in 1895. He is the pioneer for distance radio transmission. Started centurys of radio. -
Audion Tube
Lee De Forest created the audion tube. A vaccum tube that amplified radio signals. Reginald Fessenden was the allegedly orignal inventor, But history overshawed Reginald, and took Lees word. -
Titanic & Radio
More people would have died if radio wasnt invented. The signals of the radio helped the captain, get out of danger. Thanks to the radio it saved lots of lives. -
Radio Stations
Radio was invented in the 1920s. KDKA was the first radio station ever. This historical station is still around today. -
Uncle Charlie
Uncle Charlie wasa era of time where abybody coukd have a station. Unlike today you have to have a license. But when radio was first invented anybody with headphones, and a radio could make there own station. -
Advertising is Invented
In 1922 WEAF aired a 10 minute commercial on the radio. It was for a apartment complex, The radio station made 50$ off of the ad. This influenced more and more commercials to air on the radio. -
FRC
In 1927 FRC was established by the goverment. This made a law that you had to have a license to brodcast a radio station. This ended the era of Uncle Charlie radio stations -
Golden Radio
In the mids of the great depression, radio was at its peak. everybody was listening to the radio because it was the only entertainment that anybody had. -
Radio To T.V.
In the late 30s radio was demolished by the TV. TV was the new trend as it was more entertaining to people around the world. Radio slowly faded away as more people tuned into television shows. -
Music On Radio
Radio soon turned into brocasting music to the world. As TV was taking over shows. -
Radio Progressing
Major Edwin Armstrong invented the FM transmitter. It made for stronger signals for the radio to be brodcasted more clearer and in farther distances. But radio still couldnt compete with TV. -
Radio In The Modern Age
Radio became overrunned again by the modern technologys of today. Pandora, Youtube, Itunes are all examples of todays dominace over the radio.
