Slavery is a horrible thing that happened in America. Slavery is the act of treating someone like property and forcing them to do work for you. In America this took place on plantations in the South. African Americans were brought over on slave ships and sold to farmers in the South. This is important for U.S. history because a war had to happen to end this many years later, and it gives many races freedom rather than unfair treatment. -
The Declaration of Independence
The DOI is a document that states that the colonists want to be free and independent from the King. This is important to the U.S. because it states our freedom to be our own country from England. -
The initial creation / signing of the U.S. Constitution
The U.S. Constitution is a form of governmnet created in tehe 1780s for the U.S. by delegates. This form of government was better than the AOC, which was the 1st form of government. This is important to the U.S. because its our form of givernment that we still use today. This form of government is very influential because it is over 200 years old and we still use it today. -

Many men, but a few women came to California in search for gold to become rich. Many people came to CA from the East coast, and came to search for gold because it was valuable. Civil War
The Civil war was between the North (Union) and South (Confederates). It was started because the Southern states seceded fro the U.S. The North wins and then reconstruction begins. Thousands of people died, and many casualites. This is important and infulential to the U.S. because it's the reason for many deaths, end of slavery, and many changes to America. -
Lincolns Assassination
John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln with a pistol. Not many people witnessed the shooting immediately (they didn't physically see John pull the trigger). Lincoln's wife was there with him was she saw hi bledding. Lincoln died 9 hours later. It is important because this is a crime, and this is how Lincoln died. -

Battle of Little Big Horn
George Custer led American troops to defeat Native Americns. Because they wanted the Indians to go back to the reservations. The NA's actually win that battle. This is influential and important to the U.S. because the U.S. know knew that there was more they would have to do, and the NA's were capable of more than they thought. -
Chinese Exclusion Act
An act that banned Chinese immigrants. Many felt that they were taking majority of the jobs, and there wouldn't be enough. So for 10 years Chinese immigrant coming to the U.S. for labor were not allowed. This influences the U.S. because by doing this, the U.S. didn't become overpopulated, and Americans were able to keep their jobs. -
Stock Market Crash of 1929
In the year of 1929 many banks didn't have the money that they owed their clients. The reason being, too many people were taking so much money out at one time. Eventually, the president created a system that gave banks the money to give back to the people. This event was important for the U.S. to teach us to always give people their oney back, or the people won't have enoguh money for other things. -

Cuban Missile Crisis
Cuba had a missle threat set againt the U.S. many people wanted Kennedy to go to war but he said no. Eventually, cuba and the U.S.came in an agreement. This agreement was that Cuba would remove all missiles from U.S in exchange for the U.S. to not invade Cuba. This was infuential because we might have had to go to war with another country and the lives of our Americans were in danger. -
My Birthday!
I was born and raised in Lancaster County, PA. I am 7 out of the 8 children in my family. I have 4 older brothers, and 1 younger brother. I have 2 older sisters. I have a brother in-law. Lastly, a naphew. I have fish in my house, and a puppy german shepherd Roxy. Today, I'm an eighth grader interested in photography, hiking, and being outside with my friends. -
Terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001
A terriorist group hijacked a plane in NY. Then, purposely ran into two buildings killing thousands of people. Causing New York city in deveastation, and destruction. This event influenced because a war was started because of it. Its so important because innocent lives were lost.
