    The Declaration of Independence was created for a reason. It was created to give us our freedom. With out this document we would not be free.

    The initial creating/signing of the U.S. Constitution
    The U.S Constitution was and is used to create our government. This document helped create laws. It also gives citizns their basic rights.

    Lewis and Clark Expedition.

    The Lewis and Clark expedition was the first expedition to cross what is now the Western part of the United states. They started off in St. Louis on the Mississippi River. They traveled for a very long time, about two years. Along the way they ran into a young girl named Sacagawea. Sacagawea ended up going along for the trip with Lewis and Clark. Sacagawea had a little baby with her, this was actually a really good thing. The baby was a symbol of peice.

    The California gold rush was a time when everyone pretty much sold everything and traveled a long way in search and gold. People may or may not have found gold. It was very unfortunate that evryone stopped what they were doing and went to search for gold and sometimes came up empty handed.

    President Abraham Lincoln signed the Homestead Act into law. This law encouraged Western Migration by providing settlers with 160 acres of land. In return, these settlers had to plant crops.

    Robert E. Lee Surrenders
    On April 9th 1865, Robert E. Lee surrendered at the Appomattox Court house. This ended the Civil war, which is a very big part of history. Also, when the war ended Reconstruction started. If Lee would not have surrendered, the war could have lastted many more years.

    On April 14th, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was shot. While watching a play in Fords Theater, John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln. Lincoln did not die that same day, he died on April 15th, 1865

    The Battle of the Little Big Horn began in 1876. The Sioux and Cheyenne Indians were furious over the whites invading their land. The Indians gathered in Montana to fight the whites in hope to keep their land.

    The Great Depression was an economic disaster. Everything crashed. there was not enough money to give people salary for jobs. Many people lost their jobs at this time. This disaster preceded World War II.

    Apollo 11 was the first flight to land on the moon. This was one amazing day to all of America. This flight was the first to land on the moon and take humans onto the moon

    On this date the Hubble Telescope was released into orbit. This telescopes cost was $2.5billion. The telescope is still in orbit today!

    I was born in the Reading hospital. In my family I have my mom, my dad, my two sisters, and my one brother. As an 8th grader I absolutely love horses and horse back riding. I also enjoy spending time with my family, pets, and friends. In my free time you can find me at the barn. While at the barn I volunteer, do barn work, and just hangout!

    Islamic terrorists hijack four planes and fly them into the twin towers. This is considered a huge part of history. Many people became heroes that day by helping as much as they could.
